Privacy Policy

Checkora is a Mac app that shows you information about your own computer. It was built so that this information stays on your Mac. This policy explains, in plain English, what data exists and where it goes.

What the app collects

Nothing is collected by us. Checkora has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything it measures — CPU, memory, battery, storage, temperatures, running apps, checkup results and history — is processed and stored only on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/Checkora. You can delete that folder at any time.

When the app uses the internet

  • License activation and checks — your license key and your Mac's name are sent to our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, to activate and periodically validate the license. Offline keys are verified on your Mac without any network request.
  • Revoked keys list — the app may download a short public list of revoked license IDs from checkora.xyz. Nothing about you is sent.
  • App Updates (only when you press “Check”) — app bundle IDs and version numbers are sent to Apple's App Store lookup service and to each app developer's own update feed.
  • Speed test (only when you press it) — uses Apple's built-in networkQuality service.
  • Public IP (only if you press “Show public IP” or turn on the IP-change alert) — a request is made to api.ipify.org.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record. They process your name, email, billing details and payment method under their own privacy policy. We receive your email address and order details so we can send your license key and provide support. We never see your full card details.

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and icons from the jsDelivr CDN. The interactive demo runs entirely in your browser and cannot read anything from your Mac.

Permissions the app may ask for

Optional macOS permissions (Full Disk Access, Notifications, Location for showing your Wi-Fi name, Camera and Microphone for the hardware tests) are used only for the feature you're using. Camera and microphone are never recorded or saved. Location is never stored or sent.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you (normally just your email and order), ask us to correct it or delete it, by emailing support@checkora.xyz.

Children

Checkora is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Significant changes will be announced on this website.
